The game launched last week on iPad. The video game is a great starting place for new players, and features many of the cards in paper Magic 2015 Core Set on July 18, 2014. The new Magic 2015 Core Set boasts 14 cards created by popular video game developers such as George Fan (Plants vs. Zombies), Notch (Minecraft), and Rob Pardo (World of Warcraft). It also features the "You Make The Card" created by the Magic: The Gathering community: Waste Not.

Perhaps the largest addition to the franchise this year with Magic 2015 – Duels of the Planeswalkers is a fully customizable deck builder. In previous installments players were given decks which had only a few unlockable cards to be edited in and out of decks. In this year's iteration of the franchise players have full creative control over the contents of their library, which has been a highly requested feature for the game.
