Boston Magic: The Gathering Examiner David Leavitt heads to the beach, enlisting the help of some Massachusetts natives to crack a pack of Wizards of the Coast's upcoming set Magic 2015.
You can watch the attached video and read results here for yourself:

- Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
We can't deny being tempted by Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and at a local Friday Night Magic event we'd first pick it based on its monetary value. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth fits into a variety of decks across multiple formats, especially Commander.
Magic Online is a different animal, however. If you're a competitive player who's made it to the draft portion of an event, the winning payout is worth way more than just a few dollars of store credit. Ignoring the rare, our eyes are immediately drawn to just a few cards, and it'd depend on our mood what play style we'd like to pursue.
Removal is king in limited, and Flesh to Dust should certainly be on your radar. Nightfire Giant can have a larger impact over the course of a game though, if you're willing to commit to both black and red so early. Speaking of red, Frenzied Goblin is perhaps the most aggressive pick in the pack. Should all three of the previous cards be already taken and this was our fourth pick we'd choose Tyrant's Machine which can be played in any deck to lock down an opponent's threats and break open a path to victory.
