Today Wizards of the Coast announced the "Magic 2014 Core Set," or "M14." The "Magic 2014 Core Set" will feature 249 "Magic: The Gathering" cards.
In addition to several new details about the set, there was also new artwork revealed that showed the fiery hot planeswalker Chandra. This year players will hopefully receive a more competitive version of the character.
The "M14" prerelease events will occur on July 13-14, 2013 and the set will be released on July 19, 2013. "M14" will hit "Magic Online" July 29, 2013. The official Twitter hashtag is #MTGM14.
The initial concept and game design was led by Mark Globus, with Tom LaPille, Adam Lee, Shawn Main, and Ken Troop also on the team.
The final game design and development was led by Dave Guskin, with Kelly Digges, Aaron Forsythe, James Hata, Zac Hill, and Max McCall on the team with contributions from Matt Tabak.
The "Magic 2014 Core set" will be printed in English, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
"M14" will be sold in "Booster Packs, Intro Packs*, Event Decks*, Booster Battle Packs, Fat Packs* (*not in all languages).
