Have you heard of Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream and Treatery in the Promenade Shops at Briargate in Colorado Springs? If you haven’t, then you need to go check them out! They are off of Briargate Parkway & Highway 83.
Maggie Moo’s is not just another ice cream shop. Yes, they make their award winning ice cream on the premises. Yes, they have cakes, smoothies, cupcakes and more treats. Yes, they do catering and fundraising. And yes, their ice cream is good for the taste buds! But Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream and Treatery is also great for the community!
Earlier today, Maggie Moo’s at the Promenade Shops at Briargate, unveiled a new flavor combo in partnership with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! Twenty-five cents of each scoop sold will go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Quarters for Conservation to save the orangutans in Indonesia!
The new “Fresh Escapes” flavor combination, Swingin Orangutan Shindig, was inspired by zoo staff members’ recent trip to Indonesia and Malaysia. During that trip, three members of the zoo’s staff learned first hand about the impacts of palm oil on orangutan habitat. According to their research and reports, “If something isn't done soon to stop the spread of palm oil plantations into the forests that harbor these orangutans, they will be extinct in ten years.” The new Maggie Moo’s specialty flavor is completely palm oil free and features Maggie Moo’s popular flavor, Banana Ice Cream, with the addition of fresh banana slices, cinnamon Teddy Grahams, and caramel swirl.
Miss Maggie Moo, “the ice cream celebutante” recently made an appearance at “Teddy Bear Days” at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and posed for pictures with her many fans. Maggie loves to pose for the paparazzi and hang out with fans in her pink dress and pearls. On another note, MaggieMoo's recently won Silver in the Gazette’s 2010 Best of the Springs!
