Magazine alert: Guitar World wants Beatles fans to buy two of current issue

The Holiday 2010 issue of Guitar World, now on newsstands, is well loaded with Beatles content. It features an interview with Paul McCartney on life after the Beatles' breakup, a review of the Beatles remastered CDs and an interview with Klaus Voormann.

In addition, there's a look back at John Lennon's "Double Fantasy" sessions with session players guitarist Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, guitarist Earl Slick and album producer Jack Douglas, a separate interview with Yoko Ono on the making of "Double Fantasy" and a look at the Lennon remasters.

Also, the CD bound into each issue features a lesson on how to play McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed."

The issue is also available in two covers with one each of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. (You can see both images in the slideshow at left.) You can see a video preview here.

Where are the covers of George and Ringo? Oh wait, I forgot, they weren't in the Beatles, were they.

good one ! lol tell it like it is:)

They don't have any articles on George or Ringo. They have the making of Double Fantasy and the transciption of Happy Xmas for John and and interview with Paul on his career and the transcription for Maybe I'm Amazed for Paul.

Hm, just thinking, I don't think I've ever seen drums transcribed, especially in Guitar World.

Well, you'd think a guitar magazine would show some love for the lead guitarist, who just happens to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the (arguably) best solo Beatle album.
No surprise there. The media now seems to think the Fabs were J&P, totally disregarding Harrison. Ringo even gets plenty of coverage. A Google search for the Scorsese documentary on George (which SHOULD be a major event, right?) shows up with nothing -- and it apparently hasn't even found a U.S. distributor yet. Meanwhile, the vinyl reissue of ATMP is returning about 25 hits on Google. Shameful.

Yeah, but then you'd have to buy four issues instead of two. :)

    >Yeah, but then you'd have to buy four issues instead of two. :)

You've proven my point. Did you read my entire post?
I never said Ringo also deserved a magazine cover. Harrison getting shafted yet again (where are the articles about ATMP's 40th anniversary reissue?) was my point.
Your response, had it been "then you'd have to buy three issues" would have been more palatable. If you are never going to elevate George into the John-Paul stratosphere, why would you elevate Ringo to George's level? No disrespect to Ringo, but Harrison is heads and shoulders above him as a songwriter, musician and artist. I don't see Martin Scorsese doing a documentary on Ringo Starr. (btw I also love Ringo and have most of his albums and have seen him five or six times in concert...)
And the fact that I see Lennon on the cover of a guitar magazine really irks me. George was way ahead of him as a guitarist, but revisionist history apparently is taking that away from him, too.

Have you read geoff emericks book? it is worth reading if you can get by him being a McCartney fanboy and some erroneous off the mark comments about George Harrison ,only the best effing guitarist in that band!

Frankly i am getting tired of old paul and his revisionist Beatles history !now that the two most able to contradict him have passed! maybe it's hardening of his arteries!
