The popular broadcaster and TV show host, who “outed” himself last year, Anderson Cooper was honored by receiving the Vito Russo Award ala 54-year old Madonna via clad cub scout uniform to make her statement about gays in boys scouting.
Boy Scout’s of America’s anti-gay stance
The GLAAD media awards is given to any openly gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual professional who has made a difference busting gender bias and equality. Madonna presented Cooper his award by saying,” I wanted to join Boy Scouts but they wouldn’t let me. I think they f---ed up. I can pitch a tent. I can build a fire. I have a very good sense of direction and I can rescue kittens from a tree. Listen, I wanna do good for the community.”
Anderson Cooper red-faced came on stage and the “Like a Virgin” popstar planted succulent red lips on the reporter’s thin pressed lips. Cooper, “I’m only here today because I have benefitted from what they, “Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation,”and so many others before me have done. Opened the doors to my head and heart in ways I never could have predecited.”
