Madonna's super-veiny arms and biceps shock onlookers

Pop star Madonna is widely known for her obsession with working out and being young. But how much is enough? Recently, the fitness-obsessed Madonna alarmed onlookers with her veiny, bulging biceps while out on the town in London.

Madonna, 50, was spotted going out to dinner with 22-year-old boytoy Jesus Luz, a Brazilian model. The aging Material Girl, who works out 2-4 hours a day, six days a week, has become more sinewy over the years as she has stepped up her exercise routine and severely cut the fat out of her diet.

"She is definitely training like an athlete. This is not your average workout," according to Taj Bailey, a personal trainer at NYC’s Crunch Fitness gym. "This is years and years of hardcore training. A lot of weight activity, lots of reps, lots of cardio."

Madonna, who regularly works out with a personal trainer, does weight training, running, yoga and Pilates to keep in shape. "It's all about hard work," Madonna said recently. "There is no easy way. If you want to know how I look like I do, it's diet and exercise and constantly being careful... I'm not going to slow down, get off this ride, stay home and get fat!"

Veiny arms are typically caused by genetics, low body fat and/or overtraining. In Madonna's case, all three factors may be at play. Another superstar with extremely veiny arms is Angelina Jolie. While Angelina, 34, doesn't possess Madonna's protuding biceps, the veins on her forearms are clearly visible under her skin.

Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Madonna has undergone a slew of cosmetic enhancements to fight off aging. While she has never confirmed these reports, Madonna's frozen, oily forehead is a telltale sign of too much Botox, as are her swollen chipmunk cheeks.

Interestingly, Madonna's ex-husband Guy Ritchie, 40, reportedly called her "old, fat, ugly and wrinkled" during the couple's many nasty marital spats. In return, Madonna reportedly slapped and poked Guy, calling him stupid, unambitious and weak. The couple split in 2008 after 8 years of marriage.

Madonna, who is reportedly apartment-hunting in New York, is currently in London with her daughter Lourdes, 12, son Rocco, 8, and adopted children David Banda, 3 and Mercy, 4.

I guess it's better than not working out and getting out of shape, but dang! What happened to moderation???

  • cheezwhiz 2 years ago

No, arongaga, the retouched photos are the ones where all of Madonna's wrinkles, veins, blemishes, and veins have been airbrushed out. What you're seeing here is what she actually looks like away from the photoshop and the perfect lighting at a professional photo shoot.

As always, she is proving just how weird the hollywood types really are. Nothing she does surprises anyone. I like to hear her sing when I can't see her ! (freakish)
