Madonna reportedly livid at M.I.A. for finger flap: Fine next for artist?

Madonna isn’t happy about the Super Bowl performance that was ruined by one gesture. So far none of the entertainers on stage have commented about the finger pointed at America on Sunday, but there is new report from London that Madonna is angered by the incident. According to a Wednesday edition of a UK newspaper, Madonna is upset her performance was upstaged by M.I.A.

"Madonna wasn't impressed. She prides herself on professionalism,” writes the Sun quoting a source that is close to Madonna. "M.I.A did nothing similar in rehearsals. Nobody knew she was going to pull this stunt.”

While the finger pointing (first finger of course) is going down, there is a bigger issue at hand. Performing at one of the biggest events in America doesn’t come without risk and celebrities have to sign on the line to promise to behave. M.I.A. could be looking at a big fine as she signed a liability clause with NBC.

With no prior knowledge, it is unlikely Madonna will be fined, but the artist has a right to be angered at M.I.A. as technically she was upstaged in a simple moment that America won’t be forgetting for a long time.
