At the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) awards ceremony, pop star Madonna presented an award to CNN's Anderson Cooper as reported on March 17, by E! Online.
Madonna dressed in full cub scout regalia got off on a rant about the Boy Scouts of America and their gay ban.
Madonna made very inflammatory remarks and mocking statements about an organization that has been teaching young boys core values of leadership, teamwork, camaraderie, morals, enterprise, and basic survival skills, however dated, for over 100-years.
The singer chooses to defame the boy scouts at an award ceremony against defamation. In a rambling 12-minute speech Madonna reportedly said, "I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn't let me join," Madonna joked.
"I think that's f--ked up," Madonna continued. "Most importantly I know how to scout for boys. So, I think I should be allowed to be a Boy Scout and they should change their stupid rules," the singer said.
Madonna is referring to again, the organization's anti-Gay ban. Some may suggest that change takes time.
Finally the singer introduced Cooper who is the recipient of the Vito Russo Award, given to one openly LGBT media professional who has made a difference promoting equality for the LGBT community.
Madonna told Cooper "he has the most 'beautiful blue eyes' she had ever seen."
Madonna also said to Cooper, "You are a bad a-- mother f—ker and you are brave, and the world needs more people like you." Madonna kissed Cooper when he took the stage, calling him a "gorgeous" freedom fighter.
