Live Footage of Tribute  Youtube

The mega Pop Star Madonna kicked off her "Sticky and Sweet" tour in the UK, with tribute to the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson last night.

Earlier this week upon hearing of the Pop Icons death she was reported to have stated :

“ I can’t stop crying over the news.”
“I’ve always admired
Michael Jackson ...the world has lost one of it’s greats but his music will love on forever.”

The two became friends while Madonna and Jackson (as a solo act) both rose to super-stardom during the 1980’s.

During her routine of the big hit “ Holiday” Madonna her show transitioned into the beat of Jackson mega hit “Billie Jean”. As a backdrop Michael Jackson’s images were projected in a montage on a enormous screen that cover the entire stage area. A yet UN- named Jackson tribute artist dressed in MJ’s signature black sequined jacket, pants, white t-shirt, hat and glove wowed the audience with his performance.

The Jackson double performed some of Michael Jackson's signature moves including the moonwalked lyrics of Jackson's song  "Man in the mirror" scrolled across the screens as , inspiring fans with his words “ If you want to make the world a better place , take a look at your self and make the change.”

Madonna “Alright people lets give it up the on the greatest artist the world has ever known Michael Jackson long live the King!"

The Michael Jackson look-a- like went on to to perform more of Jackson's moves to his big hit “Wanna be starting something”. The concert closed with Madonna slipping on a jeweled glove along with the dancers who performed a number to Jackson's “ Give it to me” as a final tribute to Michael Jackson.

UPDATE!

One of my readers who I also consider my friend Linda Collins , came through with the name of the Michael Jackson in Madonna's Concert! She found the information onwww.madonna.com/news/which posts :

...As Madonna took to the stage wearing a black armband and a single white glove - in honor of the late music legend. In an interview before the concert, the star expressed her shock over the sudden passing of her friend -- and explained her onstage tribute.

She says, "I am so terribly sad about Michael Jackson's death. I don't know what artist wasn't inspired by him.

"I chose 'Billie Jean' (to perform at the O2) because it's instantly recognizable.

"Kento, my dancer, was obsessed with Michael all his life. And when Michael was having auditions for his tour, Kento really wanted to go but he'd already made a commitment to me. So now he's about to have his moment and be Michael at my show."

A final tribute to the late Michael Jackson came in the show's final number - "Give It 2 Me".

I hadn't heard anything about this anywhere else. How cool! Gotta love Madonna!

That impersonator is a dancer from her tour. his name is Kento and he is 24 years old and does generic dancing. He did a nice job with this though.

The Michael Jackson guy is not a Tribute Artist. He is a dancer on Madonna's tour.

    That was good!

I think this answers the question of: "Is there a proper waiting period before doing Michael Jackson tributes again?"
