Legendary performer Madonna is gearing up for yet another musical reinvention as she begins work on a new album.

A source close to the superstar tells Daily Mail that Madge has enlisted the help of the hit-making Adele, 25, for a new ballad-focused project. "They have met in London and plan a writing session to produce a track for each other's new albums," the source says.

While there are no other details from this self-proclaimed "source," this rumor certainly has fans itching even more for music from both pop divas.

Madonna's last album, MDNA, bowed northward of one million copies back in 2012, launching her ninth concert tour that same year. "Give Me All Your Luvin'" served as the lead single, which inevitably became her 38th Top 10 hit on Billboard's all-genre Hot 100.

Meanwhile, Adele's last release, the critically-acclaimed 21, recently sold over three million digital units, the most of any album in history. The project has spawned numerous smash hits since its 2011 release, including "Someone Like You" and "Rolling In the Deep."
