According to data tabulated by MediaBase and released by All Access on Wednesday, Jan. 15, Muse’s “Madness” tops the detections-based Alternative Rock Chart for the 15th non-consecutive week.
This song's run at Number One is rapidly closing in on the band’s 17-week stay at Number One earned with its 2010 smash “Uprising.” That track holds the record for the second-longest stay at Number One in the history of the Alternative Rock Chart.
At 97X (97.1 FM, WSUN), Tampa Bay’s Alternative Rock, "Madness" still ranks among the station's Top Three most-played and most-heard tracks.

As previously mentioned earlier in the article, Muse holds down the top spot on the detections chart once again this week with “Madness.” The song received 2,104 plays at Alternative Rock stations between Jan. 8 and Jan. 14, which is only 13 fewer plays than the week before.
“Madness” also rules this week’s audience-based chart, with just under 11.91 million impressions during the tracking period. This is the songs 21st week on the Alternative Rock Chart.
At 97X, Muse’s “Madness” received 48 plays (a loss of two from the previous week) and accumulated 152,300 impressions (number two for the week) for the week.

Mumford & Sons still stuck at number two behind Muse
Mumford & Sons’ “I Will Wait” is number two in detections and impressions. Alternative Rock stations monitored by MediaBase played this track 1,866 times during the last seven days, which represents a drop of 86 spins.
However, because Mumford & Sons’ loss is ever-so-slightly smaller than this week’s number three track in terms of detections, “I Will Wait” slips back up from number three to number two on the chart.
Mumford & Sons holds at number two again on this week’s audience-based Alternative Rock Chart. “I Will Wait” accumulated just over 11.63 million impressions over the last seven days. This is the song’s 23rd week on the chart.

Wrapping up the Top Five, and how each track performs locally
The Black Keys slip from number two to number three this week in total detections with “Little Black Submarines.” The track received 1,863 plays – down 91 spins from the previous week. "Little Black Submarines" also ranks at number three in total audience with almost 11.41 million impressions. The song has been on the Alternative Rock Chart now for 28 weeks.
Here in Tampa Bay, “Little Black Submarines” is week’s most-played (52 spins, up three for the week) and most-heard (158,100 impressions) song at 97X.
In their 37th chart week, the Lumineers own the oldest song in this week’s Top Five with “Ho Hey.” The former Number One song holds at number four again this week after receiving 1,713 spins (a loss of 74 spins). The track accumulated 11.06 million impressions during the tracking period, which also places it at number four on the audience-based Alternative Rock Chart.
At 97X, “Ho Hey” is tied with Muse’s “Madness” as this week’s second most-played song (48 spins, down two), and is the station’s third most-heard track (148,500 impressions).
Atlas Genius holds at number five this week with “Trojans.” The song lost just seven spins when compared to last week, less than any other track in the Top Five, and finishes with 1,708 plays. “Trojans” also ranks at number five in total audience. However, its 9.86 million impressions is significantly less than any other track in the Top Five. “Trojans” is in its 35th chart week.
At 97X, “Trojans” received 15 plays (a loss of one) and 37,300 impressions over the past week.
