Madison rolls to victory over Dexter in final tuneup for the regular season

DEXTER--- The Madison Bulldogs football team has three seniors on their roster. All three scored a touchdown in a 20-0 preseason victory over the Dexter Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs used a dominate run game during their first two possessions. The first possession ended when Adam Wintle intercepted a pass for Dexter.

The Tigers fumbled on their first play after the interception, Madison recovered at their own 48 yard line. On the eighth play of the drive, Derek LeBlanc ran the ball into the endzone from 23 yards out to give Madison a 6-0 lead with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter.

Jordan Curtis carried the ball 12 times for 82 yards. His biggest run of the game was a 45 yard rush into the endzone with 6:31 remaining in the third quarter. Hunter Fernald converted the extra point to give the Bulldogs a 13-0 lead.

Cody Soucier capped off the scoring when he and the Bulldogs surprised Dexter with a fake punt. Soucier ran the ball 50 yards into the endzone with 2:01 remaining in the third quarter.

"There were some points in the game where mentally we broke down,We allowed some big plays, like on a fake punt, "Dexter coach Kevin Armstrong said. " There were some long plays that mentally we were not ready for."

Dexter will host Medomak Valley in their regular season opener. Madison will travel to Winslow.
