Two parents and a grandfather made a toddler smoke pot in their New York apartment during a party earlier this month. The three family members allegedly forced a 23-month-old boy to smoke marijuana. CBS News reports Dec. 17 that the boy's mother, Jessica Kelsey, 17, and his grandfather, Don Baker, 54, made the toddler smoke pot while stepfather, George Kelsey, 18, looked on.
“They packed the marijuana pipe, lit it for the baby and gave it to him and encouraged him to inhale,” Undersheriff Charles Holder of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said. “It’s just unbelievable.”
The reported incident is believed to have taken place during a party on Dec. 5. All three family members were arrested at their apartment, which so happens to be right next door to the sheriff's office.
There is speculation that while the parents and the grandfather made the toddler smoke, it was videotaped. The sheriff's office has not confirmed that, however.
The Kelseys and Baker are being charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. They are being held on $10,000 bail at the Chautauqua County Jail.
This is a sickening thing to do to a child who has no say in what he can do. All he knows is he wanted to make his parents and grandfather happy, so they took advantage of that by making the toddler smoke pot. People like this are rarely sorry for these types of actions.
