“In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.” James 1:18
This verse says, “…so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.” God is not a God of accidents or coincidences but rather He is a God of purpose. We are seeds that have been carefully planted by a magnificent Creator in order to bring Him the greatest glory possible.
The first of things is what usually sets the precedence for what is going to be good or bad. If we are the first fruits among God’s creation then it is our responsibility as children of God to set the precedence. What will we set then; a good one or a bad one? I encourage you to choose a good one. Remember that you are reflecting a Creator who not only gave His life for you so that you may live, but who also loves you beyond what you could ever begin to comprehend. Therefore do your best to let your lives overflow with His love and His light so that He may receive the glory He deserves. We know this will not always be easy, but that does not mean we give up trying altogether. Instead we push forward relying on God and doing our best to set an example that is worthy of following. We reach out to people in need, we love those who others may believe to be “unlovable”, we find joy in all circumstances, and most importantly we allow God to guide and direct our steps.
Always remember that we have been deemed the first fruits among a nation that is in desperate need of a Savior. Do not allow this opportunity to go to waste. Instead allow yourself to thrive in God’s love so that our nation may be transformed by His goodness and redeeming light. If we can do this the results will not be ones that disappoint.
