Make fashion a resolution for 2010, listed ten predicted women's fashion trends for the new year.  In order to meet these trends, the fashionista must put quite a bit of effort into finding the items that fit these particular styles, and they often involve a style overhaul to cater to the trend.  Furthermore, once trends fade, it is possible that some of these styles might become dated (i.e. rompers and torn denim). This article, however, addresses five recycled '80s trends that will update any wardrobe or outfit and are a simple edition to any closet.

**Items can be purchased at Walmart.

Five trends for 2010:

1.  Leggings - don't get rid of those old leggings just yet, they're definitely back in style.  Lindsay Lohan's leggings collection, 6126, is a great place to shop for items to fit this trend.  Denim leggings will be especially popular this season.  I recently purchased Betsey Johnson's denim leggings, and if you'd like some for yourself, here are some options:

2.  Cartoon t-shirts - while perhaps not the most lasting investment in a trend, you are welcome to jump on the bandwagon - you'll be in good company, Rihanna already has.  In my personal opinion, this trend is a bit embarrassing for those of us who might wish to be taken seriously.  Instead, I propose we all just buy Marc by Marc Jacobs tees and call it a day.  The following links are options:

If you're against this trend, perhaps you'd be in favor of simply dressing like a cartoon character? Polyvore has compiled a Daisy Duck ensemble that you might consider giving a whirl.

3.  Black nail polish - the vamp trend is still in, but it has also been updated as midnight blues and dark purples, reds, and greens join the ranks to complete the perfect goth nail makeover.  Consider the following:

4.  Platform Heels - this trend, especially in the form of a wedged heel, is great for those of us who live in heels such as myself.  Finally, we can be taller, fashionable, and more comfortable all at the same time.  See below for options:

5.  The exaggerated shoulder - this trend is not so much about the shape of the shoulder as it is about attitude combined with a bit of structure a la Marc Jacobs 80's inspired spring 2010 Marc by Marc Jacobs runway collection.  See below for links:
