EA Sports finally gave the first official look Monday at Madden NFL 25 on the PS4 and Xbox One with a set of screenshots and a presentation trailer that explains all the graphical upgrades for the long-running football simulation series.
Thanks to the EA Sports IGNITE engine and the power of the PS4 and Xbox One, Madden NFL 25 will feature ten times the level of detail than the current-generation version of the game. Every blade of glass in the stadium will be rendered and the crowds will be individual 3D models as well. This allows EA Sports to create crowds in the game with "indiscernible patterns" to make it feel like there are "tens of thousands of people in the stands."
Lighting, character animations and stadium details are all enhanced with EA Sports calling out special attention to the way that uniform material looks and reacts on-screen.
While the graphical upgrades are nice, many fans of the series will be wondering how the gameplay stacks up as Madden makes the leap to next-gen. Many franchise features didn't make the leap the last time this happened with the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 and it took a couple of iterations before the game was full featured again.
Madden NFL 25 will be available on Nov. 12 for the PS4 and Nov. 19 for the Xbox One. There is a $10 trade-up option available at select retailers for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners.
