For those that think pigskin is a new version of Canadian bacon or that that Cam Newton is the creator of the classic fig cookies and not a one-of-a-kind Quarterback, Electronic Arts has got you covered with a deeper, content-filled Skills Trainer that will take you from an NFL zero to an All-Pro game changer in hours.

If you already consider themselves solid players, but need help in certain areas, the updated Skills Trainer works well in that aspect as well.

”There are over 48 tutorials and drills so there’s plenty of content to enjoy,” said Danny Doeberling, Assistant Producer for "Madden NFL 15,” in an exclusive interview with Examiner. “We think most people will just jump in and out and play the areas they feel they need help in.

“For the completionist though, we offer Madden Ultimate Team cards for players who can earn bronze medals in each category.”

Only in its second year, the Skills Trainer continues to grow. With more drills and different areas of focus, EA understands that they are essentially teaching gamers the rules of the game and how to get better, all while providing a fun atmosphere. While it’s not the same as playing through a season, but the development team understands the purpose behind it all.

“Last year, we added Skills Trainer to teach players new mechanics and basic Madden skills to help them learn the intricacies of the game,” Doeberling adds. “I think the first attempt was successful but we still felt we could improve upon it. We wanted Skills Trainer to be a place where both new and veteran players could go to get better at the game. Players can still learn what’s new but now can also learn about real football concepts and strategies like recognizing basic defensive coverages and running effective pass concepts. Teaching real world football concepts is a new frontier for us, but one we’re excited to explore.”

Madden 15” is set for an August 26 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One home gaming consoles.
