The Madame Alexander Doll Company, one of the pioneers of mass-produced dolls in honor of living people and movie characters, announces three new dolls that celebrate fashion doll history with three 10" Cissette dolls. The Denise Boulet, Zelda and Queen Victoria dolls honor the Victorian Era, Edwardian Times and the Roaring 20s.
Denise Boulet was the wife and muse of French fashion designer Paul Poiret. The Boulet doll wears a deep plum, floor length sheath embellished with black and gold lace and purple bugle beads at the bodice. Over the sheath she wears an olive green satin, kimono style coat, a bold geometric pattern belt made from purple and gold brocade accentuating the waist of the dress. An iridescent purple and gold beaded headband adorns her upswept brunette hair.
Zelda could have stepped out of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel with her 20¹s inspired purple satin drop waist dress with silver and lavender mesh and trimmed with a purple chiffon bow on the side of her waist. A white cloche hat sits atop her short blonde bob.
The longest reigning monarch in British history, Queen Victoria, will rule Britannia forever in her sumptuous bridal gown of white satin with its full skirt, fitted bodice and flounced sleeves, all trimmed with white lace. Her headdress of orange blossoms and veil of lace and netting cover her brunette bun.
All three Madame Alexander dolls are limited to 250 pieces. Madame Alexander is now owned by Kahn Lucas. Details at: History of Fashion Dolls: Denise Boulet, Zelda, Queen Victoria
