Today Oct. 8, 2013 Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. announced that their upcoming game console, the M.O.J.O. Micro-Console for Android, will be launching Dec. 10, 2013. The company has begun taking pre-orders for the new gaming console, which will be shipping "in limited quantities" for $249.99.
According to a prepared statement we received from the president and CEO of Mad Catz Darren Richardson:
The M.O.J.O. Micro-Console for Android has attracted strong interest due to its high-performance hardware, open software platform and the ecosystem of accessories. M.O.J.O. is the center piece of our GameSmart mobile initiative and brings core gaming experiences to the mobile platform.
The M.O.J.O. boasts the following specs:
- NVIDIA Tegra4 T40S 1.8GHz Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage
- HDMI out capabilities with full 1080p resolution
- Bluetooth, microSD Flash Slot with support for SDXC Cards up to 128GB
- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and the Android 4.2.2 operating system.
The device, which was announced this past June, supports 5.1 channel surround sound and comes with the Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R Wireless GamePad. A console quality controller, the Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R Wireless GamePad boasts Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Smart (4.0) technologies, allowing it to connect to "current, future and legacy smart devices."
The M.O.J.O. is also compatible with the company's line of "GameSmart" accessories.
