If you were in the Manchester area on Saturday night you had a few choices for where to take in some great live local music, but you probably would have wanted to choose Mad Bob’s Saloon on Lincoln St to listen to four great bands.
First up was “A Simple Complex.” This week A Simple Complex was nominated for a best band in the state for New Hampshire by the New England Music Awards. After turning in a stellar performance it was easy to understand why they had grabbed one of the 5 nominee slots.
The Band “Q” from Springfield, MA pumped it up with a high powered mix of originals and covers.
Mongrel, who is vying for nominations in best punk band and best female singer in this year’s Pulse magazine music awards. With performances of originals like “Shut up” there’s no reason they shouldn't get the nod.
Finishing out the night was Edgewize. This is a heavy metal band with a deep sound that draws you in and keeps you transfixed.
When it was all over it was nearly depressing that the music high was over. Keep your eyes and ears open for when any and all of these bands are ready to hit the stage again near you.
