Macy's has joined forces with the Gordon Parks Foundation and the American Black Film Festival in honor of Gordon Parks' 100th birthday for a special event at Macy's Lenox on February 16.

Festivities kick off at 2:00 pm in the Children's Department, on level one, for a "Design Your Own Book" event. The adults take over at 3:00 pm on level two with a panel discussion with Eriq LaSalle, best known from "ER," gallery owner Arnika Dawkins and photographer Darrell Lane, moderated by "CBS Better Mornings Atlanta" anchor Tracye Hutchins, on Parks' influence on film, which he explored along with photography.

Afterwards, attendees are encouraged to view an installation of his iconic photography and then party with Macy's Soul Jam style dance party to commemorate "Shaft," which Parks directed. If that weren't enough, those who spend $50 or more can receive a commemorative Gordon Parks journal, but supplies are limited.

Find out more about Gordon Parks, who passed in 2006 at age 93, and this event at plus enter for a chance to win a trip for two to the American Black Film Festival in Miami and a $1000 Macy's shopping spree courtesy of American Airlines.
