Macy's Black History Month "Celebrates You" Event

On Sunday, February 28th, at Macy’s Hidalgo, an excited crowd welcomed author and marketing professional Sheila Coates. The room was full of Coates fans and local Houstonians interested in supporting the celebration of Black History Month.

Sheila Coates led a panel discussion on how to develop your own personal brand by finding your own voice to achieve successful life. Other panelists and contributors included Congresswoman -Sheila Jackson Lee, President and CEO of Lane Staffing-Carla Lane, Houston Style Magazine Publisher- Francis Page Jr. and President of the Houston Area Urban League- Judson Robinson.

The discussion went really well and included enthusiastic questions and feedback from the crowd.

The event also included a short presentation on ten professional wardrobe must haves.

And after the discussion, Ms. Coates proceeded to autograph copies of her book, “Mama Used to Say… Be Your Own Brand” for her fans.
