Macklemore Marries Gay Couples During Grammy Performance

In a controversial move, that is sure to be talked about for years to come, independent rap artist Macklemore performed his hit single "Same Love" then had couples married right at the 2014 Grammys.

After taking home quite a few Grammys last night, Macklemore performed his song with Mary Lambert singing the hook. In a surprise move, (rapper/actress) Queen Latifa stepped out on the stage to marry 33 couples. What makes the move so controversial is that many of the couples were not only straight, and mixed race, but also gay.

After Latifa excitedly pronounce them, "A couple!" Madonna then took to the stage singing her 1986 hit track "Open Your Heart" (her fourth hit single off of the True Blue album). The song then transitioned well back into Macklemore's "Same Love" at which point Madonna did a duet with Mary Lambert as the couples hugged and exited the auditorium.

There practically wasn't a dry eye in the house but only time will tell how big the fallout will be. Many in politics, and even journalism, are against same sex marriage. Some may also be against children being exposed to alternative lifestyles without their permission.

Those people may not have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to filing complaints as it was made known before hand that some gay couples would be apart of the ceremony before hand. Love it or hate it, this is a Grammy historical moment.
