Mackenzie Coiley earns second athlete of the week

When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination.

2013/2014 Winter season- Week 8-January 20th- January 26th

Female

Mackenzie Coiley- Foxcroft- basketball- Recorded 23 points and 12 rebounds in 51-39 victory over Ellsworth. Scored 30 points in 70-57 victory over Hermon.

Coiley was named Big East Conference girls player of the week on January 20th.

This is the second time, Coiley has been named athlete of the week. She also earned the honor on February 3rd, 2013.

Joining Coiley as Foxcroft Academy student/athletes that have been named AOW are Ryan Rebar (3), Donnie Boyer (3), Brianna Skolfield (2), Cameron Fadley, Tino Ayala, Jesse Provost, Kaleb Smith, and Julia Annis.

Coiley and the Ponies are currently 9-6 and fourth in the MPA class B standings.

Runner up

Parise Rossignol- Van Buren- basketball- Scored 24 points in 52-34 win over Southern Aroostook. She now has 2269 career points as she passed the career total of her father Matt Rossignol. Parise now has the Van Buren school record. Scored 35 points in 63-29 victory over Wisdom.

Other nominations

Sable Altvater- Southern Aroostook- basketball - Scored 19 points in 52-34 loss to Van Buren. Scored 19 points, including her 1000 career point in 59-28 win over Southern Aroostook.

Anna Ramsay- Narraguagus- basketball- Scored 23 points in 63-39 victory over Sumner. Scored 25 points and had 17 rebounds in a 43-41 win over Shead of Eastport. 17 points in the second half including two foul shots in the last seconds to secure the win.

Raychel Alley- Stearns- basketball- Scored 19 points in 59-42 victory over Searsport. Scored 21 points and dished out seven assists in 49-35 victory over PCHS. Scored 22 points, including her 1,000th career point in 52-34 win over Bangor Christian.

Emma Alley- Stearns- basketball- Scored 12 points in 59-42 victory over Searsport. Scored 13 points in 49-35 victory over PCHS.

Jessicca Girsa- Stearns- basketball- Scored 12 points in 59-42 victory over Searsport. Scored 14 points in 52-34 win over Bangor Christian.

Brianna Skolfield- Foxcroft- basketball- Scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 51-39 victory over Ellsworth. Scored 10 points in 70-57 win over Hermon.

Kelsie Richards- Nokomis- basketball- Scored 15 points, including four three pointers in 54-20 win over Winslow.

Abbie Melvin- Dexter- basketball- Scored 25 points (11-13 FG), and pulled down eight rebounds in 61-55 victory over Bucksport.

Megan Peach- Dexter- basketball- Recorded 15 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocks in 61-55 victory over Bucksport.

Hannah Graham- Presque Isle- basketball- Recorded 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 57-53 win over Ellsworth. Recorded 13 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals in 65-50 victory over MDI leading Presque Isle to a 60 game winning steak and a 55 game winning streak at home.

Krsytal Kingsbury- Presque Isle- basketball- Recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals in 57-53 win over Ellsworth. Recorded 16 points, three rebounds, and two assists in 65-50 victory over MDI.
