On Saturday July 12, 2014 V-103 and WAOK hosted their annual car and bike show at the World Congress Center.
Greg Street, the long-time V-103 night jock, said he came up with the idea more than a decade ago. He said the annual event has grown steadily and drew 30,000 people last year.
“It’s a cultural thing,” he said. “It’s more than the concert and the entertainment. Cars and bikes are so much part of the urban community. It’s a lifestyle.”
This year drew over 40,000 people to celebrate its 11th annual event. Guests enjoyed awesome performances from Cato, Kris Scholar, Que, Kris Kelly, Young Scooter, Mack Wilds, Rich Homie Quan, Rico Love, Da Brat, A1 Super Group, Cash Out, August Alsina, T-Pain, Dougie Fresh and a surprise performance from Trey Songz. This year the Autograph Zone had over 600 fan waiting to see Trey Songz and Columbus Short. Attendees also enjoyed the U.S. Marine challenge, DTLR Interactive Booth, V103 and WAOK Broadcast Areas, Jim Ellis Big Block Silverado, Racetrac Recharge Zone, Mountain Dew Street Alley and Butler Tires Celebrity Row.
