Machine Gun Kelly laced up in front of a sold out show at the Key Club, on Feb. 8. The opening musicians were Frzy, B.O.$.$. Boy’z, J-Lotto, I.M. and Matt Andujo.
MGK’s disc jockey appeared onstage, first. He had the crowd chant, “MGK”, as he moved his arms up and down. Technical difficulties seemed to have plagued the turntables, as the clock struck 11:23 pm. Bullets were heard through the speakers and the crowd roared, as MGK appeared on stage.
A keyboardist, a guitarist, a DJ and a drummer accompanied him on stage. Dawned in a vest with a black hooded denim vest, jeans and brown shoes. The word “Rager” and an emblem populated the back of his vest.
As MGK performed his first song, he removed his vest. When he finished performing—he brought up Cleveland natives, Drew Carey and Layzie Bone (Bone Thugs-n-Harmony), on stage with him. Then he performed the song, “LTFU (One More Time)”. It samples Daft Punk’s “One More Time” and the song also pays homage to the late Pimp C of UGK.
MGK made a circular motion and incited a mosh pit. Then, he performed his song, “STFU”. It samples the Go-Gos song, “We Got The Beat”. Next—he grabbed a bottle of water, opened it and doused the crowd with it. He grabbed and twisted the lid of another water bottle, poured it over the drum set and his drummer played on. Later, he made his way to the crowd, stood on a few hands and performed.
Only wearing boxer briefs, MGK brought up a female audience member as Blink-182’s song, “What’s My Age Again?” played through the speakers. Then, he poured another bottle of water on the drum set. As he caught his breath, he spoke to the audience and admitted he was intoxicated. He invited additional female audience members onto the stage; one let him wear her pants, as the DJ played “Change Clothes” by Jay-Z featuring Pharrell.
As MGK wore his female fan’s pants, he performed the song, “Wild Boy”, which features Waka Flocka Flame. In the middle of the performance—he brought up his boss, Diddy. He left the stage, performed on a rail, and went back to the stage to finish the song.
To end the show—MGK grabbed a bucket, which was filled with ice and water. He threw it into the crowd, like a Harlem Globetrotter.
