'MacGruber' red band trailer offers up raunchy laughs


The one minute Saturday Night Live sketch MacGruber is getting ready for his big screen debut.

The comedy sketch, featured a MacGuyer-like hero who uses everyday objects to try and stop evil and save the world. The only problem was he was not good at his job, and at the end of each sketch he would fail to stop the ticking bomb he was trying to defuse.


Despite the flimsiness of the concept, its made the transition to the big screen. The red band trailer -- intended for mature audiences and NSFW due to the strong language and violence -- has arrived online and delivers a surprisingly funny and outrageous take on the material. This isn't Shakespeare, but it does throw MacGruber into some outrageous situations with equally outrageous results.


The film starring Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Powers Boothe, Val Kilmer, Maya Rudolph and Bill Hader opens on May 21st.
