MacGregor pie is a complete meal in itself. You have your protein, starch and vegetables all in one. This recipe came from a sweet lady from the mid-west.
MacGregor Pie
- ½ pounds ground beef*
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
- 1 box frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 bag instant mashed potatoes
- 1 egg
- 1 slice of bread, crumbled
- Pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients except potatoes. Press into an 8 inch round cake pan or a 9x9 square baking dish.
Bake at 350* for 45-60 minutes, until meat is brown.
Drain off grease and spread potatoes over the top.
Return to oven for 15 minutes to brown potatoes.
* You can substitute ground beef with ground chicken or turkey.
