As speculated, the "Lorwyn 5" planeswalkers (Ajani Goldmane, Garruk Wildspeaker, Jace Beleren, Liliana Vess, and Chandra Nalaar) will all be back for another go in Magic: The Gathering's 2011 Core Set.  These planeswalkers core set incarnations are easy to use, feature three functions each, and exemplify corresponding color strengths.

Ajani Goldmane focuses on lifegain, vigilance, arming a swarm of troops, and eventually laying out a monstrous Avatar with stats based on a player's life total.  Ajani's "signature" planeswalker cards in M11, Ajani's Mantra and Ajani's Pridemate, also focus on gaining life.

Garruk Wildspeaker can accelerate mana, deploy creatures, and get wild with a game winning "Overrun" effect.  Garruk's signature cards for M11 are Garruk's Companion and Garruk's Packleader.

Jace Beleren focuses on card draw and library destruction - both abilities found on Jace's signature M11 cards, Jace's Ingenuity and Jace's Erasure.

Liliana Vess specializes in discard, tutoring, and a game willing ultimate ability that unleashes the graveyards.  Liliana's discard proclivities are well expressed through her signature M11 cards, Liliana's Caress and Liliana's Specter.

Chandra Nalaar can poke players, burn creatures, and unleash a fiery tempest if not dealt with.  Chandra's signature cards in M11 are Chandra's Outrage and Chandra's Spitfire.

These simple but powerful planeswalkers are 5 of the mythic rare slots from Magic: The Gathering's 2011 Core Set, and bring a truckload of flavor and fun to their respective colors - don't miss your chance to play with them at the Magic: The Gathering prerelease events this weekend!
