Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil rocks Vegas and opens new Rock Bar

Mötley Crüe rocked the newly-revamped Joint at the Hard Rock Saturday night during a stop on their ‘Crue Fest 2’ tour. A show that sold out in hours featured other A-List bands Godsmack, Drowning Pool and Theory of a Deadman. In a previous story done here on the Las Vegas Bar Examiner page, The Joint’s reconstruction has definitely made these large rocking bands sound just that much better.

After rocking the sold out Joint until Midnight, Vince Neil jetted westward to his new venture with co-owner Danny Koker of Count’s Kustoms, ‘Feelgoods’ and belted out just a few more tunes. This new Rock Bar, featuring a thirty foot stage, sound system comparable to the Ovation Showroom at Green Valley Ranch and VIP rooms much like the Strip Clubs just down the road.

The bar’s house band, members of Vince Neil’s solo band, will be rocking three nights a week along with spotlighting local Vegas bands. The hard rocking theme with a Counts Kustom bike sitting center stage, so to speak, makes this house a true biker bar. Although very biker-friendly, not wanting to be termed a ‘Biker-Bar’, co-owner Koker notes the rules of the house being ‘Leave Colors & Firearms at the door’. No one will be turned away for dress code.

The interior of Feelgoods has a definite dark and mysterious feeling. A coffin phone booth greets those that left their cell phone in the car and a fire escape catwalk will be filled with go-go dancers. Lighting made from old drum kits and gas cans light your way to The V-Room’s red velvet and leopard prints. It’s not quite clear what clientele this ‘VIP’ area will serve.

Knowing how Las Vegas was in dire need of a genuine live rock music club that wasn’t in a casino and didn’t so many rules, Feelgoods fills the niche. Noting how many hard rockers live in and around Las Vegas, you can bet there are going to be sightings all the time. Slaughter, who will perform at Club Madrid inside Sunset Station on July 24, are hosting their official after-concert party at the bar. Whitesnake will do the same after their Aug. 8 performance with Judas Priest at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Finally a true ‘Rock Bar’ with a sound system to rival every casino’s showroom in Sin City. With Feelgoods and Sammy Hagar bringing the flagship US location of his famous Cabo Wabo Cantina to Las Vegas, look for the trend to continue.

I went to Crue Fest 2 at Nissan Pavilion, it was good but Godsmack was really the best part of the show. They did this crazy drummer duet/battle type of thing and it was insane. TOADM was pretty good. Motley Crue was ok too.
