Madonna asked people for World Peace at the end of her halftime show during her performance at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, but one of artists on the field probably didn’t agree. At first it didn’t seem possible as the Sunday halftime show seemed so well put together and shared all the best of the Material Girl. Yet it wasn’t Madonna who flipped off America, it was M.I.A.
It was shocking at best and disgusting at worst. The hard work Madonna put into her performance on Sunday night will be overshadowed by a finger strategically placed by one of the other entertainers. In what was a moment that could have been cut (or even fuzzed) it appears that M.I.A. might have shocked more than just the fans as the cutaway from the halftime view had the camera scrambling too.
Overall Madonna fans loved the medley and dancing from the performer. Incorporating different artists and many performers on the field, the show will be one put in history as one of the best in NFL history. However, M.I.A. did a great disservice to Madonna and the fans by flipping everyone off. Not only was it out of context, it was just plain unnecessary.
