Lypossage

Lypossage is a non-surgical, contour changing, multi-appointment treatment program offered by company-trained personnel. The program involves three weekly, one-hour appointments, over a six-week period: 18 sessions including two appointments for measurements and weighing. The treatment’s purpose is to push impurities trapped within the superficial layers of the skin through the Lymph system and out of the body via bowel movements and or urine. The goal will be a reduction in the appearance of cellulite. Cellulite is fat trapped within the superficial layers of the skin.

In this day spa treatment, the client will undress and don a paper spa bra, thong, and robe before transitioning into the treatment room. After the service, a shower is not necessary. The treatment itself involves mechanical vibration with a specific machine utilizing three changeable heads. The vibratory treatment pushes excess lymph up and through the major exit points, speeding up detoxification. Sensitive clients may experience some bruising and soreness, but this reporter did not experience such.

This service program requires commitment. It is also expensive, $1895. Suggestions include nothing to eat two-hours before the appointment and drinking eight ounces of water immediately after each session: 32 ounces daily while in treatment. Aerobic activity vs. anaerobic is suggested. Aerobic activity focuses on endurance activities such as running or cycling whereas anaerobic exercise focuses on short, strength-based exercises such as weight lifting.

The results were unimpressive. If a person is utilizing the treatment in conjunction with weight loss, the treatment may offer better results. As with all cellulite treatments, constant and assertive attention is required. If one is prone to cellulite, it is unlikely any treatment will have long-lasting effects.
