The City of Lynwood said yes to fitness on Saturday, Feb. 8, when 250 adults and children grabbed their t-shirts, shorts, and sneakers and lined up to follow the instructions of the newly certified trainer in Insanity Training Carlos Alvarez, who is already well known to the community as the voice of the Spanish radio morning show Carlos Alvarez en la Manana of Super Estrella 107.1.
Those stretching, squatting, and jumping included public servants like Briseida Gonzalez, President of the Lynwood Unified School District’s Board of Education, Carlos Zaragoza, principal of Lynwood High, and Councilmembers Jose Luis Solache and Maria Santillan-Beas. Many in attendance stayed after the workout for pictures and autographs from the charismatic radio host.
The event was such as success that Alvarez confirmed a second Insanity class now scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Yvonne/Burke Ham Park, located at 11832 Atlantic Avenue in Lynwood. This class will be offered free of charge and everyone in the community is encouraged to attend.
