A Lake County mother was arrested after shaking her infant to the point of being hospitalized. Lynsey Overton 27, of Leesburg was apprehended and charged with child abuse and child neglect and is currently being held without bond.
According to the arrest report, Overton shook the infant because she wouldn't stop crying, struck the child in the face, and forced a bottle down her mouth. The child was admitted into the hospital where doctors confirmed that she had a fractured leg -- blood clots in the brain as well as past and present bruises.
Overton blamed her boyfriend at first, but changed her story and admitted that she was the one that abused her child. The child’s age remains anonymous; however she is still in the hospital recovering from her injuries.
