Fans of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" may see a familiar face returning in the future. In an interview with OK! Magazine, posted on Tuesday, June 17, former housewife Lydia McLaughlin revealed that she's open to returning to the show.
Lydia joined the show for season eight but announced after the season was over that she would not be returning. Initially, she said that the reason she chose to leave, despite being given the opportunity by producers to stay on, after only one season was because she wanted to concentrate on other business opportunities. She later revealed that the real reason was because she and her husband wanted to have a third baby and she didn't want that to be her storyline for the upcoming season. She announced in April that she was pregnant.
Lydia may very well return to the show after she has given birth to her third child, another boy, and he's a bit older. She told OK! that she misses some aspects of the show, that one never knows what the future brings, and that the "Real Housewives" door "definitely hasn’t closed."
One aspect of the show that she seems to miss are the friendships. She revealed that she still talks to and sees Alexis Bellino and Gretchen Rossi. She explained that she and Alexis were workout buddies before the show and have continued to go to classes together. As for Gretchen, she and her fiance Slade Smiley attended Lydia's costume birthday party in early March. Ironically, the two housewives that she still keeps in touch with are the two other housewives who also left the show after season eight.
As for what Lydia McLaughlin thinks of season nine of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," she doesn't have any! She claimed that she never watched the show before she joined and, in the same fashion, hasn't seen one episode now that she's no longer on it.
