Lydia McLaughlin shocked everyone when she announced yesterday that she had decided to quit The Real Housewives of Orange County after just one season on the show. At the time, she told press that the decision was a personal one for her and something she knew she had to do. However, she has good reason for not wanting the stress in her life!
"I know it's a crazy one," Lydia told Celebified of her decision during an event last night, November 4. "It was just an inner decision that I knew inside. I just wanted to do what was right for me and my family. Bravo has been amazing and has been a great family to be a part of but I just felt that I want to have another baby and do different things within my family."
Having a third child is an exciting decision and certainly a good reason for not wanting the drama involved in filming a reality show in her life. Although Lydia was usually the peacemaker of the bunch, being a show is always stressful, despite of that, and during a pregnancy, it's simply not healthy.
As for her co-stars' reactions to the news, Lydia says she sent them all text messages yesterday, announcing her decision but "haven't gotten any texts back."
"I hope they miss me but it's not the end of our friendship. It's just the end of our TV friendship for this season," Lydia explains. And as for the possibilities of future return, Lydia seems on board. "Yeah, you never know. I heard that Dina just announced she's coming back to New Jersey. She took like a five year break, so who knows?"
