Luv Gov Scandal's Ashley Dupre tied to new Eliot Spitzer resignation

Ex-call girl Ashley Dupre who faded into obscurity after wrecking New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s political career in 2008, has resurfaced as a result of another controversial Spitzer resignation.

Playboy magazine is apparently trying to capitalize on Spitzer’s high profile departure Sunday (Jan. 6) from his job as a progressive talk show host on Al Gore’s Current Television Network.

It's using her photos from a May 2010 magazine spread to promote its Playboy Plus website.

The move came after Gore announced that Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera had agreed to acquire Current TV, according to The New York Times.

The broadcast company wants to create an American version of its international news channel Al Jazeera English. Spitzer based his decision on Al Jazeera’s plan to shift the focus of the network.

Spitzer’s program, “Viewpoint,” aired at 8pm weeknights. While he’s leaving, the show is staying with a new host.

After Spitzer’s sex scandal, Dupre was granted immunity from prosecution to testify against the New Jersey service that employed her. She made a couple of efforts to leverage the notoriety. But was never able to make much headway. She posed nude for Playboy’s May 2010 issue.

Dupre began writing a sex advice column for The New York Post in 2009 and wrapped her final column in May of this year. She quit, she said, to concentrate on her new lingerie and swimwear boutique Femme by Ashley, in Red Bank, NJ.

It’s unknown how she feels about being paraded on the Playboy website again, but her photos are sizzling. You can check them out here.
