'Luther' is coming to the big screen

In an interview with Mirror yesterday, show front-runner Neil Cross laid out his plans for the big screen version of "Luther," the acclaimed BBC series starring the incredible Idris Elba ("The Losers").

Cross informed that the movie, instead of picking up where the final season ends, will be a prequel to the series.

“It will follow his career in the earlier days, when he is still married to Zoe, and the final scene in the film is the first of the initial TV series.”

I think this is a great way to give fans more of what they want, and all of the cast is expected to return and reprise their roles from the show.

This, I think, is an fantastic way to keep excellent TV shows alive (like with "Firefly" and "Serenity"), and is a great service to the fans. The script is already written, and production is slated to begin next year.
