Lupita Nyong'o is People magazine's Most Beautiful person of 2014. The publication made the announcement Wednesday.
Nyong'o, who at age 16 was insecure about her rich complexion, is now praised for her beauty and has graced the covers of many of today's top magazines.
The coveted Most Beautiful cover is icing on the cake for what has been quite a whirlwind year for Nyong'o. The 31-year-old Kenyan beauty was thrust into the spotlight for her tour-de-force performance in "12 Years A Slave," which earned the actress an Oscar for Best Actress in a supporting role.
Nyong'o also took home a SAG award, Independent Spirit award, NAACP Image award, and the award for Best Supporting Actress at the Critics' Choice awards.
As equally mesmerizing as Nyong'o's talent and beauty is her impeccable sense of individual style and grace. With model good looks, the actress has been considered the best-dressed on many red carpets during awards season, donning today's top designers and styles in an array of vibrant colors.
In April, Nyong'o became the first black ambassador for Lancome's skincare line. It seems the sky is the limit for this bright talent.
