A yet unidentified cafeteria worker in Great Britain has been terminated from her employment at a "multi-faith" school for accidentally serving meat to the entire student population that wasn't slaughtered according to Islamic Law, as reported by The Daily Mail (of London, UK) on Feb. 20, 2013.
Better known in Great Britain is "dinner ladies," the now jobless food service worker was unceremoniously fired from Birmingham's Moseley School after an admitted "unintentional error" resulted in all 1,400 pupils being served a singular and standard industrial-prepared (non-Muslim law) meal's worth of meat.
According to The Daily Mail, this is the only mistake the offending, and now jobless, dinner lady has ever been involved with.
The Moscow-based news portal RT.com also reported on Feb, 21, 2013, that:
"Ninety percent of Moseley School pupils come from more than 30 different ethnic minorities, not all of them Muslim."
RT.com also cites:
"Halal means 'permissible' in Arabic, and to comply animals must be killed by having their throat slit, as Allah’s name is pronounced, then hung upside down to let the blood drain out.
The Koran does allow Muslims to eat non-Halal meat, if it is done unwittingly, or when there is no choice."
In regards to the accidental serving of non-halal food to the student population:
"Nonetheless, to stave off further fury from believers, Direct Services, the caterer used by the Labour-dominated City Council, will fully retrain all its staff and introduce a special double-checking system for all of its Halal meat customers."
Britain's Labour Party is their political version of America's Democratic Party.
We Are Not Pleased...
However, many of the school's Muslim parents are enraged that their moppets were accidentally fed non-halal prepared food.
- "The school have failed the children."
- "How did this meal get into the school system to be fed to the children?"
- "It's just shocking that dietary requirements haven't been met."
- "It is a disgrace that this could be allowed to happen and we demand more action is take."
- "It could not just be the error or one lady, there must be people at the top responsible too who also need to be sacked."
- "It is an insult to our faith."
The school's Headmaster has since been forced to apologize to the offended parents and children.
The Australian Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is attempting to have the halal practice outlawed throughout the nation.
In Australia, the national halal standard requires abattoirs [slaughterhouses] to stun animals before their throat is cut.
Yet a number of Australian abattoirs have been given governmental approval to kill animals without stunning them first.
The RSPCA advises halal slaughter is "a brutal practice and should be banned."
