ABOUT LUNAFEST

LUNAFEST®, the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women's issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities, will be hosted by LUNA at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City on February 6, 2013.

Established in 2000 by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, LUNAFEST connects women, their stories and their causes through film. This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through nine short films by women filmmakers. The films range from animation to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

Since its inception, LUNAFEST has grown from a single annual event to a coast-to-coast force with more than 150 North American screenings each season. To date, 101 filmmakers have been featured, nearly $1.5 million dollars has been raised and thousands of attendees have come away moved, entertained and inspired.

Net proceeds from LUNAFEST New York will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the New York Women’s Foundation.
