Best known for her time on Hee Haw, Lulu Roman has recorded over 20 albums and has been entertaining folks and making them laugh forever and she is just getting started. I got to speak to Lulu from one of her favorite places in the world, Wal-mart. She tells me she is the Wal-mart Queen and I believe her.
Why would one interview this lady from America’s largest chain big box store? Because she needed to pick up supplies for Jack, her female grand-kitty, long story for another time and that is not what this article is about but it is a cute story.
This week Lulu Roman is releasing, “At Last,” a CD filled with songs that she has loved and sang along with all of her life. This is something she always wanted to do and she says she is “thrilled beyond words to present it to the world.”
She tells me At Last has twelve cuts on it and she had to narrow that down so she went with her heart and picked the songs that meant the very most to her. Several wonderful recording artists joined Lulu in the studio and added their wonderful vocals to the project. Lulu tells me that the collaborations totally happened by accident. It was not planned and just snowballed into Dolly Parton, Linda Davis, T. Graham Brown and Georgette Jones singing along. Some of Lulu’s favorites are, “Killing Me Softly, I Will Always Love You, Fever, You Don’t Know Me and the list goes on and on. Lulu picked “At Last” as the title cut because it just plain fit that at last she was getting around to doing this.
Lulu plans to tour to promote the CD and it will be available at all the usual hot spots like Wal-mart, and online stores such as ITunes, Amazon and Lulu’s website at www.luluroman.net If you order from her website, each CD will come autographed especially to you. Congratulations Lulu that you have finally gotten to release this CD, “At Last.”
