Lulu was eliminated from "America's Next Top Model" during week four. Tyra said Lulu lacked tension and needed power and force in her photos on the Sept. 23, 2009 episode, Make Me Tall.
Brittany and Lulu were in the bottom two. Brittany, who was safe, was told the judges felt her amazing, extended photo last week may have just been a fluke.
Walk the runway tall
Make Me Tall's challenge was trying to make yourself look tall while walking the runway. Miss J brought in nine-year-old Diva Davanna, a runway model that Tyra Banks had on her talk show. She was incredible and had the most amazing walk!
Walking definitely isn't the models' strong points, yet. No one really stood out as amazing, but, as with other seasons, that will change. They just need work.
Stand out among the non-vertically challenged
Make Me Tall's challenge was a great one! The models participated in their first runway show. No big deal, right? Wrong! The petite models of "ANTM" had to walk down the runway with models five feet 10 inches and above. Honestly, the models didn't really look short to me until this episode.
This was a tough challenge for some of the models because their confidence was shaken by the non-vertically challenged models, while others totally embraced their signature walks.
Some of the comments the judges made were Bianca needs to relax, Laura and Brittany did exactly what they should've been doing and Lulu didn't sparkle and walked short.
Brittany was the challenge winner and chose Laura and Kara to be in the Seventeen magazine photo shoot she won with her.
Extending during the shoot
The goal of Make Me Tall's photo shoot was for the models to extend their bodies to make themselves look as tall as possible.
During the shoot Jay said Brittany ruined the photo by holding her dress out, which made her look shorter. He also said Lulu was boring and Jennifer was stunning. Bianca had a lot of trouble during the shoot. Her face was still really harsh. Talking about Jesus, shockingly, was the only thing that could calm her.
The judging
Fashion designer Kevan Hall and petite model Jaime Rishar were Make Me Tall's guest judges.
The judges comments were:
- Erin - beautiful face; would never guess she was only five feet six inches tall
- Bianca - finally looks soft in the photo; doesn't really show her as taller; beautiful posture
- Brittany - hidden neck caused her to look short
- Sundai - absolutely stunning; very relaxed
- Laura - right foot on the ground would've given her length
- Jennifer - couldn't tell she has an eye issue
- Nicole - could not believe how tall she looked
- Lulu - pretty but not fashion; looked like a portrait of actress or singer; average
- Kara - used the set to her advantage; extended neck gave her height; one of the best photos
- Rae - didn't look longer
- Ashley - looked a little taller in the photo; eyes looked like she wasn't all there
