Luke Bryan has a hit on his hands according to the confirmation made Aug. 21, 2013 on his website with his latest album titled “Crash My Party” landing in the number one spot by selling almost 528,000 in the first week. The total sales for “Crash My Party” put Bryan in third place for highest record sales of the year behind Jay Z’s “Magna Carta … Holy Grail” that holds the second place spot and Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” which sold 968,000 copies making it the highest selling album of the year. Luke Bryan also joins Taylor Swift as the only singers since 2008 to sell a half a million copies of an album in one week according to Billboard.
Bryan said “I’ve never been this excited about an album that I have put out, and the response I have gotten is really humbling and mind-blowing to me,” and added “I am lucky to have some of the best fans in the world, and I am happy to see them enjoying this album as much as I do. I’m just so thankful for my fans and for Country radio for the amazing support” when he talked about the albums debut on his website. The big numbers that Bryan’s album has achieved follows up the number one spot the title track single for the album reached which also set a Billboard record for the largest one week audience with 45.5 million listeners and selling 1.2 million downloads.
