'American Idol' fans have been anxiously awaiting the latest news. The past few seasons have experienced some serious revamps in the judging panel, and the upcoming season will be no exception. According to an E! News article dated Saturday, August 24, Lukasz Gottward 'Dr. Luke' will be joining Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez for the Fox reality show.
Dr. Luke is a songwriter- producer with an impressive resume. He is the man behind massive hits such as Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone," Kesha's "Tik Tok," and Katy Perry's "California Gurls." With Gottwald's experience it seems that he just may know a thing or two about talent scouting.
Now, it isn't a complete shock that Dr. Luke has signed on given that rumors were swirling that he was "close to singing." It was recently reported that Black Eyed Peas frontman declined the offer.
Last season, there was some serious animosity on the panel. Mariah Carrey and Nicki Minaj were simply not the best of friends. The digs and catfights continued throughout most of the season's run, while Keith Urban and Randy Jackson tried their best to avoid the conflict. Apparently viewers didn't particularly enjoy the drama as the show experienced a rating's dip.
Though veteran Randy Jackson also stepped down from the judging panel, reports are circulating that will still be involved with the show in a different position.
Fans are looking forward to Jennifer Lopez's and Keith Urban's return, but are they excited about Dr. Luke? What do you think? Is Gottwald a smart addition to the judging panel? Are you planning to watch the upcoming season?
