Nintendo revealed the first details Thursday about multiplayer for "Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon" on the Nintendo 3DS. Luigi will be able to team up with friends to chase down ghosts either locally or online.

"Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon" will feature local and online multiplayer modes for up to four players. It also supports Download Play capabilities for when not everyone has a copy of the game but only some modes will be available.

The multiplayer takes place in the ScareScraper and one of gametypes announced is called "Hunter Mode". Each player controls a Luigi of a different color to hunt down ghosts and clear each floor of a tower. It's a race against the clock to make it to the top though where a boss battle awaits. Teamwork will be necessary to make it through including reviving fallen comrades.

Players will be able to choose options such as the number of floors from five to 25 and adjust the difficulty in this mode.

"Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon" is due out on March 24 for the Nintendo 3DS.
