DC police are now throwing people in jail for expired tags. They will throw you in jail if your tags are even just a few days expired and for no other reason. People who have committed no other crime have spent the night in jail.
This is something I would have expected in a third world country, not in our nations capital. Over time, I have read more and more stories where regular people are thrown in jail for the smallest crimes that you would expect to be nothing more than a fine. One man in New Jersey was put in jail for 7 years for transporting a gun he legally owned, in his trunk after recently moving from another state.
In a lot of these cases you also hear how the police do things like leave the person’s vehicle parked illegally, then ticket it and have it towed.
There can only be one reason for such persecution of the people in this country. Make them fear the government. While these kind of acts seek to quash the people, everyone whose studied even a little bit of sociology knows that when you push too hard you eventually end up with some kind of revolution.
The odd thing is that there are those on the streets and in government positions today who want and have called for a revolution. I’m not talking about the tea party either. There are many who have decided they want a communist revolution and they want the country to be torn down and started over as a communist or socialist society.
This is what the Occupy Wall Street movement is about. If you read the demands of at least one person in this movementit is all about communism and collapsing the system. Even more telling is that the website of Occupy Wall Street say there are no demands. If there are no demands it seems even more likely to be about anarchy and revolution. If you have people from the bottom trying to overthrow the current system and people from the top putting downward pressure to get people to hate the government, this may be a designed recipe for disaster.
