Ludevic’s Test Subject / Ludevic’s Abomination | Innistrad

Ludevic’s Test Subject (which transforms into Ludevic’s Abomination) is a blue rare Lizard from Magic: The Gathering’s Innistrad set.  This science experiment gone wrong is large enough to terrify any opponent, and can be sluiced extra mana easily while acting as an efficient blocker.

Problems with angry mobs storming your castle and torching your experiments? Handle them like Ludevic, and create a monstrous 13/13.  Is Ludevic’s Test Subject constructed viable?

Probably not, unless there are some incredible “transform” cards to cheat out this slathering beasty or some way to get proliferate going to warm the egg while accomplishing other goals.

“Draw-Go” egg hatchery doesn’t seem too viable, but it can’t be ruled out quite yet.  Standard will be receiving a massive shakeup as Innistrad comes into play and buries older sets.

Ludevic’s Test Subject seems stellar in draft, if this rampaging Godzilla hatches it will shred through any number of humans, werewolves, and vampires.  Ludevic’s Test Subject should play nicely in Commander as well, where the EOT can be used to get some counters going on your drooling monstrosity.

While immensely flavorful and larger than life, Ludevic’s Test Subject seems a little sketchy for constructed play at the moment. With so many Innistrad cards to go, there is every possibility that this science project may shine under the silver moon.
