It’s been busy in New Zealand as Spartacus cast member Lucy Lawless joined a cast of 17 along with actor Sam Neil in a charitable performance of Bare to raise funds for New Zealand’s Red Cross following the devastating earthquake in Christchurch. The theatrical performance was live on March 25, 2011 and the website Ausxip not only has firsthand reviews of the event, but has orchestrated several auctions to raise additional funds for several charities close to Lucy Lawless’ heart. Those who would like to read a review by Janine Kehl based upon Lucy Lawless’ performance in a scene known as “Woman Pissing” may do so here. You may read another review by Jo here.
Those interested in learning more about the 2011 Ausxip Charity Auction may learn more about the Starship Foundation and Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation as well as view autographed Bare flyers available for bidding at the official site. Lucy Lawless and Liam McIntyre (who has been cast in the lead role of Spartacus after Andy Whitfield had to decline the part due to his health) both autographed flyers for the auction.
